SNORKEL

At last we've finally sorted the Snorkel, when we brought the zuk back in 2003 it was one of the first jobs on our list, for some reason it has taken us 2 years to get round to doing it. Mainly because it wasn't required, until we went on a trip to Woodlands where the water was deeper then I thought & we flooded the air box.

We looked at the price of new snorkel & decided we would have a go making our own out of drainpipe.

Equipment required:-

1 length of standard drain pipe
2 90 degrees fixing
1 Air filter

First job was to cut a hole in the bodywork and fit a small length of pipe through the body. We did have to melt & re-mould the end of the pipe to fit up neatly against the standard Vitara air filter system

We then fitted a 90 degree bend onto the end of the pipe & attached that to a flexible pipe which we found down the breaker from another air filter system. The rest of the drain pipe then fitted onto the other end of the flexible. We used cable ties to fix the drain pipe to the roll cage, then placed another 90 degree connecter on top & after a bit of modifying screwed a K&N filter on.
